Nourishing ourselves, treating ourselves kindly, and honoring the wisdom of our bodies, all lead to cultivating a more loving relationship and a deeper wisdom for making right choices in our lives. We're also committed to providing only the finest quality, natural products to use in our rituals, because we know that what we put on our bodies is absorbed into our systems as food for the skin. Cooking and Eating Rituals

Here are two recipes for preparing food in the tradition of Ayurveda.

Ayurvedic Vegetable Curry
1 C fresh green peas (frozen can be used if necessary)
1 C carrots, diced
1 C potatoes, diced
2 C asparagus
2 Tbs sunflower oil or ghee
1 Tsp cumin seeds
2 Tsp black mustard seeds
1 Tsp sea salt
1 ½ C water
1 Tsp turmeric
1 Tsp coriander powder
½ Tsp TARA® Ayurveda Culinary Spices
½ C yogurt

Heat oil or ghee in large heavy skillet. Add mustard and cumin seeds. When the mustard seeds pop, add turmeric. Then add all the vegetables and the water. (If using frozen peas, do not add until rest of vegetables are nearly done.) Cook covered until the vegetables become tender, about 15-20 minutes. Then add the yogurt and the rest of the ingredients, stirring well. Simmer uncovered on low heat for another 15-20 minutes.

Indian Broccoli
2 large heads of broccoli (about 5 cups chopped)
1 Tsp - 3 Tbs ghee
¼ Tsp mustard seeds
1/8 Tsp cumin seeds
1/8 Tsp hing
1 clove garlic, minced
½ Tsp turmeric
2 Tsp coriander powder
¾ Tsp sea salt
½ Tsp TARA® Ayurveda Culinary Spices
1 Tbs lime or lemon juice

Wash and pat dry broccoli. Chop in ½ inch pieces. Heat ghee in medium-sized heavy skillet; add mustard and cumin seeds, the hing and garlic. When mustard seeds begin to pop, add turmeric, then broccoli. Stir well. Add remaining ingredients as broccoli is cooking, mix well. Cook uncovered until broccoli is tender but still bright green, stirring occasionally, about 10-15 minutes in all.
